We are The Amethyst Constellation, a plural creative system making music, visual art, and educational resources from lived experience, reflection, research, and collaboration.Our work explores identity, dissociation, trauma, survival, recovery, connection, and the strange ways people learn to make meaning from what they have lived through.Some of what we create is personal.
Some is educational.
Some simply exists because something inside us needed to become music, color, language, or sound.We just love creating things that express ourselves and hope it brings as much joy to those that witness us as it did to us to create them. ABOUT USWe are The Amethyst Constellation, a plural system, group of artists, musicians, survivors, thinkers, and storytellers sharing one life while experiencing it through many different perspectives.The name Constellation matters to us.A constellation is not a single point of light. It is a collection of separate lights that can be understood individually while also forming something larger when seen together.That is much closer to how we understand ourselves.Our creative work grew out of a need to communicate experiences that were often difficult to explain directly. Sometimes that became a song. Sometimes an image. Sometimes an educational poster. Sometimes it became an attempt to take something confusing or painful apart carefully enough that we could understand how it worked.Over time, those individual projects became something larger.-OUR MUSICOur music is deeply connected to perspective.Different members of our system bring different emotions, aesthetics, histories, and ways of understanding the world. Because of that, our music can move through very different genres and emotional landscapes while still belonging to the same larger project.Some songs tell stories.Some are conversations.Some are attempts to give language to something that once had none.And some exist simply because making them felt good.-OUR SYSTEM WORKA large part of our visual work focuses on dissociation, plurality, trauma, coercion, communication, recovery, and the ways earlier experiences can continue shaping expectations long after the original circumstances have changed.We create these resources partly for ourselves and partly because complicated experiences often become easier to approach when they can be placed on a page, examined, named, and discussed.We try to distinguish between lived experience, interpretation, research, and established clinical knowledge rather than presenting any single perspective as universal.This system work led us to make amazing connections with other systems who are also living a life happy joyous and free.
